Over twenty-five years ago, when Corinna and her husband decided to marry, they found the First UU Church of Austin and never left. Having been raised without a religious tradition, Unitarian Universalism is the only faith she has ever known. Corinna served First UU in many different capacities during her years there, and taught Sunday school classes for five. In early 2016, she decided to pursue becoming a Religious Educator as a vocation and interned both at First Church Austin and Live Oak UU for a year. In February of 2017, we commissioned Corinna as our first Director of Religious Education. It’s been a joy to have her bring her knowledge and skills to our San Gabriel community. She is currently in the UUA’s credentialing program, scheduled to become a Credentialed Religious Educator in April 2020.

As we mingle water together from many different sources, we symbolize a coming home of sorts, a return to each other’s company, as all water in nature gathers together, first in raindrops, then creeks and rivers, and finally in lakes and oceans. We too, are drawn together and we want to celebrate that impulse. How … Continue reading Returning to One Another Water Communion

During the … Continue reading A Season of Learning
A UU colleague of mine, Bart Frost, asked this question once, and I’ve referred to it in a sermon before. Let’s revisit this again – can we be Unitarian Universalist by ourselves, separate from one another? Think on this, come to the service, and then share your thoughts in our Time Together! I’m looking forward … Continue reading Online Service – Can You Be UU Alone?

This Sunday is our fourth summer All Ages Service. While we typically have several all Ages Service every year, the summer one is extra-special. In past years, children have attended a two-day theater camp at church to discuss, create, and rehearse the service. Things are of course different this year, but we are still going … Continue reading Online Service – All Ages Service!
