What I propose to share with you today is about a basic value that I have discovered is essential for vibrant and effective faith. It’s a value stimulated by a quote from Thomas Jefferson that says “All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.” This makes me think of any number of issues taking place today in our country and how we might respond to them clearly and effectively. The question I pose today for our consideration is What is Compassion and Respect?
Join us after today’s Service from 11:45-12:30 for a “Congregational Forum about our UU General Assembly.” Dana Hendrix and Keith Hutchinson will share insights and inspiration with us from their recent trip to our GA in Kansas City. Please plan to stay and learn about our UU Living Tradition and how it shows up in the company of 3,000 UUs.
