The word awesome is an abused, overused, misused word. On this Sunday morning, I will switch that word around and consider what it means to have some awe in our lives. We are entering a period of time in Western culture that has traditionally been all about awe — the Christmas season. Somehow that has been lost in the hype and misdirection that begins around Halloween time and lasts until New Years Day. Can we reclaim some awe? And how might the concept of intersectionality help us do that, while bringing us closer to the true meaning of the season?
