Relational Organizing through Memory

Our memories, our stories, and and in particular experiences with loss or grief, can fuel our drive and imagination to make the world around us more just and humane.  While many approaches to advocacy and organizing are centered around particular issues or campaigns, “relational organizing” is focused on reweaving the social fabric of our communities through face-to-face conversations, and rooted in the stories and memories that have shaped who we are.  Doug Greco, the Lead Organizer from Central Texas Interfaith, will talk about how over 50 Central Texas congregations and workers’ organizations worked together this past year to build one the region’s largest non-partisan Get out the Vote Campaigns, starting with hundreds of small group conversations focused on participants sharing their personal stories.
