What commitments have you made in your life? To what have you committed yourself, your time, your energy, your resources? Why do you do this? How do you do this? Many of us have undoubtedly made commitments we wish we had not made, from the mundane to the possibly dangerous. Think about making a commitment to use alcohol or drugs or overeating to escape a scary world, to deny reality, particularly this reality that we currently find ourselves in. Saying that, I realize that commitments don’t have to be made consciously. Today I want to focus on commitments that we make willingly, fully aware of what we are doing. How do those commitments compare to commitments that we make reluctantly or subconsciously?
