It shouldn’t surprise us that conscientiousness in belief and in personal choices also translates into acting with conscience. Last week many of us marched twice. Once in honor and memory of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to recommit our consciences and lives to justice, equity and compassion in all we do. And a second time to honor Women and their moral agency regarding reproductive rights and other endangered liberties. The timing of these marches during the week of the Presidential Inauguration called to the fore the democratic process upon which our United States of America was built. This coming Sunday we will study our 5th UU Principle affirming the personal right of conscience and the use of the democratic process in our Congregations.
