Today we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy in song, story and sermon. Rev. Dr. Combs says: This time of year our faith tradition calls us to be still and listen; to open wide our hearts and our minds to all the possibilities the universe can present. We are called to focus on the things bigger than you and me. That’s what we’re called to, but instead we usually make the holidays about gifts and parties and meals. So much so that at this point in the year in the aftermath, we find ourselves in recovery from a time that could have been so different. I want to call us back to the possibilities. It’s not too late. Let’s ask ourselves and one another, “Are You Ready?”
