This week in Religious Education, we will lift up our theme of The Practice of Story as we honor Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. His story of wanting a brighter future for his children and the world’s children helps us understand that stories can be a driving and inspirational force for social change. By telling a new or different story about what the future can be, we gain the confidence that our current story isn’t inevitable or “just the way it is.” Stories help us imagine a new way. And if we can imagine it, we can build it.
