Many religious leaders, including Buddhists and Christians, believe nondualism to be part of the path to enlightenment or a higher connection with the divine. Demonstrating scientifically what many have known for millennia, complexity theory and other scientific discoveries have proven the inter-related nature of the universe. Might nondualism and queer identities, which push the boundaries of traditional binary natures, be interrelated? What can complexity theory teach us about the liberation of trans people? What do we stand to lose, both practically and spiritually, when we erase trans and nonbinary identities and suppress queerness?
