Our weekly UU worship service has often been described as a time to “consider matters of worth.” This Sunday’s service will be no exception to that lofty description, but it will be primarily a time of singing together. Our congregation will have the opportunity to consider the worth of two very good books – our two hymnals.
Singing the Living Tradition (Gray Hymnal) and Singing the Journey (Teal Hymnal) are both treasures filled with wonderful words and melodies worth singing. Bill Hornbuckle, veteran church musician, and a robust men’s ensemble, accompanied by Molly Hornbuckle, will lead us in singing as many of these true treasures as time will allow. If you don’t like to sing, come anyway to listen to the lovely voices of our ambitious singing congregation, or to benefit from simply reading the words of the songs we will sing. There’s a treasure there worth considering.
