In the coming months San Gabriel UU Fellowship will enter a transition period with an interim minister and the opportunity to consider new directions in ministry. Transitions in leadership provide every congregation with occasions to think about the purpose and mission of a faith community. In his sermon on June 9th, Rev. Snead will invite SGUUF members and friends to imagine what an ideal church looks like and how we might become that kind of church. He will be addressing this issue via a movie about a socially awkward young man in a small town who tries to be normal but in a very abnormal way. The question the sermon will pose is this “What kind of church are you looking for?”
Lou Snead is a retired Presbyterian minister who is involved in many worthy projects in Georgetown, including serving on our SGUUF Social Justice Team and also on the Courageous Conversations Core Team, an interfaith race relations group here in Georgetown.
