Painful memories are often stored so vividly in the mind, ready to be called back by the smallest of triggers, and sometimes it can feel like the only way to heal is to erase them. But the heart has a “muscle memory” for love, and it will work again if you nourish it. This Sunday let us reflect upon and explore the notion of reclaiming the narratives of painful memories as a method of overcoming and healing rather than wishing to erase them, and how our hearts remember to love time and time again with practices of gratitude and compassion. We will hear and witness memories that are both my own, and those shared by others in public spaces, such as part of the #metoo movement, that may be challenging to hear. Plan to join us to learn how our hearts are our helpers!
