NAVIGATION SERVICES OF GEORGETOWN

NAVIGATION SERVICES OF GEORGETOWN

People experiencing the trauma of living unhoused or facing eviction often are stymied by the obstacles of our current government and legal systems.  They don’t know how to navigate these systems or who to ask for help.

We fill a current gap in local social services – mainly helping people get an ID.  We meet clients “where they are” and  assist them with online applications, with  transportation to appointments or interviews, and pay the fees associated for new identification documents.  Sometimes we  go the extra mile and accompany a client to meet with their banking institution, with Social Security Administration, or with Texas Workforce.   By providing clients with a temporary mailing address through our services, they then can apply for identification documents.  Having an ID is a pathway for a person to apply for a job, to acquire an apartment, or access social service benefits — all which improve a person’s living condition.

We are volunteers operating under the non-profit organization of GTX CONNECT and through a collaboration of churches, such as San Gabriel UU Fellowship.   For more information,  send an email to
