Caring Place - SGUUF participates in supporting the Caring Place through service on the Board of Directors and support of ongoing programs through donations and volunteerism.

A Caring Place with Caring People...

The mission of the Caring Place is to serve human needs in Georgetown and Northern Williamson County.

The Caring Place assists families in the following ways: Financial Assistance:

  • Rent, utilities, medical expenses, temporary shelter, transportation, other.
  • Non-financial Assistance:  Food, clothing and household items.
  • Feeding Programs:  Fresh Food for Families and Hope
  • Annual Programs:  Coats for Kids, Thanksgiving and Christmas food distribution.

The need is great. Every day, staff and volunteers help get people back on their feet with the basics of life: food, shelter and clothing.

Bartlett Project - SGUUF supports Joyce and her "friends" through donations of clothing, toiletries and other necessities.  Several members have participated in helping Joyce cook and feed her "friends".  This fall we intend to help make houses more accessible by building ramps and replacing rickety steps.  We are also looking at ways to provide health information to those "friends" with hypertension, diabetes and other physical problems.
